Timber Cladding

Timber Cladding adds an elegance to a rather plain looking or repetitive surface and makes it stand out. Giving it an often contemporary and trendy look. Cladding is, “the application of one material over another to provide a skin or layer”, according to Wikipedia. At Deckitout we clad a variety of structures, such as masonry, concrete or steel frames.

As seen in the cladding done below, an otherwise plain wall was clad and has become a feature in its own right. In commercial buildings cladding is especially common, as the structures used, lend themselves to cladding. This is a way of breaking up the otherwise large surface area of a repetitive structure. It can also be used as a way of visually defining spaces, and creating architectural rhythm on a facade. The vertical cladding seen below has both an aesthetic and fuctional role, as it offers sun deflection, as well as accentuating the vertical element of the windows.
